This is necessary in order to process the information and to send you any information you have requested or service you may be interested in accessing.

We may have to share your personal data with the parties set out below:

  • Other companies in our group who provide services to us, for example offers or prizes.
  • Service providers who provide IT and system administration services.
  • Professional advisers including lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers.

Countries outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) do not always offer the same levels of protection to your personal data, so European law has prohibited transfers of personal data outside of the EEA unless the transfer meets certain criteria.

Many of our third parties service providers are based outside the European Economic Area (EEA) so their processing of your personal data will involve a transfer of data outside the EEA.

Whenever we transfer your personal data out of the EEA, we do our best to ensure a similar degree of security of data.

The Rebel Panda website may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins and applications. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements. When you leave our website, we encourage you to read the privacy notice of every website you visit.

Automated decisions

Rebel Panda may make automated decisions based on personal data in relation to marketing. For instance, relevant email marketing about one course to an individual who has attended another relevant course.

We place care and attention to tailor email marketing to personal preferences and contact you when we think there might be information, a course or service you might be interested in.  We always offer the option to ‘opt -out’/unsubscribe from email marketing.

In addition, non-identifying data is tracked when the Rebel Panda website is accessed, and this is used for data analytical purposes.

When you visit our website, we automatically log your IP address (the unique address which identifies your computer on the internet) which is automatically recognised by our web server. We use IP addresses to help us administer our website and to collect broad demographic information for aggregate use.

Data security

Rebel Panda places a great importance on the security of all information associated with our customers.

We have put in place a range of security measures to reasonably protect your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, altered, disclosed, or accessed without authorisation. We also allow access to your personal data only to those employees and partners who have a specific reason to process your data in accordance to this policy. Our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary and only authorised personnel have access to user information.

Data retention

We will only retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

We do not retain your personal data for longer than is required in order to provide you with relevant information or services, unless you request us to do otherwise. Some of our data we retain as long as we are required by relevant legal, professional bodies such as the Companies House, the HMRC and our accreditation and membership providers whose standards we uphold. We may retain some information indefinitely for example your name and contact details to support your long-term relationship with Rebel Panda or in cases where we analyse your personal data for research or statistical purposes.

Your legal rights

Under data protection laws you have rights in relation to your personal data that include the right to request access, correction, erasure, restriction, transfer, to object to processing, to portability of data and (where the lawful ground of processing is consent) to withdraw consent.

For information about your rights: https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/guide-to-the-general-data-protection-regulation-gdpr/individual-rights/

If you wish to exercise any of the rights set above, please email us at [email protected]

Please note that the above rights are not absolute, and we may be entitled to refuse requests if they are not deemed reasonable or where exceptions apply. You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we do reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee if required – for instance if your request is complex or extensive and requires investment in terms of time and capacity.

We may need to request specific information from you as a security measure and to understand your request in order to respond to it.

If you are not happy with any aspect of how we collect and use your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Please contact us first if you do have a complaint so that we can try to resolve it for you.

Rebel Panda Cookie Policy

Introduction

This policy outlines how we use cookies and similar tools to improve performance and enhance your user experience whilst using the Rebel Panda website.

This policy should be read together with our privacy policy which sets out how and why we collect, store, use and share personal information generally, as well as your rights in relation to your personal information and details of how to contact us and supervisory authorities if you have a complaint.

By continuing to use the site, you agree to our use of cookies.

About 'cookies'

A “cookie” is a piece of information (text file) that is stored on your computer’s hard drive and which records how you move your way around a website so that, when you revisit that website, it can present tailored options based on the information stored about your last visit. Cookies can also be used to analyse traffic with the use of Google Analytics for example and for advertising with the use of Facebook or LinkedIn cookies for instance and marketing purposes to tailor your preferences and receive relevant information, offers or content.

Cookies are used by nearly all websites and do not harm your system.

Cookies serve many functions. For example, they can help analyse how well the website is performing, to remember your username and preferences, or even allow recommendations to be made regarding content we believe will be most relevant to you.

This information can contain certain personal information - for example, if you click to "remember me" when logging in to the alumni login, a cookie will store your username. Most cookies won't collect information that identifies you and will instead collect more general information such as how users arrive at and use the website, or a user's general location.

If you want to check or change what types of cookies you accept, this can usually be altered within your browser settings. You can block cookies at any time by activating the setting on your browser that allows you to refuse the setting of all or some cookies. However, if you use your browser settings to block all cookies (including essential cookies) you may not be able to access all or parts of our site.

Cookies we use on the Rebel Panda website

Essential cookies

Some cookies are essential for the operation of the site. For example, some cookies allow us to identify registered users and ensure they can access their ‘registered users only’ pages. If a registered user opts to disable these cookies, the user will not be able to access all of the content that registration entitles them to.

Functionality cookies

Functionality cookies allow us to remember your preferences. This enables us to personalise our content for you and remember your preferences. For example, cookies will remember if you have given your consent through the cookies banner; your choice of language or region; and user details saved via the browser on enquiry forms and application forms.

Analytical or performance cookies

Other cookies analyse how visitors use the site and to monitor website performance. We can therefore try to provide a high-quality experience by customising our offering and quickly identifying and fixing any issues that arise. For example, performance cookies keep track of which pages are very popular, which method of linking between pages is best, and can be used to determine why some pages are receiving error messages. We might also use these cookies to highlight articles or site services that we think will be of interest to you based on your usage of the site.

Behaviorally targeted advertising cookies

The site and our advertisers use cookies to serve you with advertisements that we believe are relevant to you and your interests. You might see these advertisements on the website and on other sites that you visit. However, we do not tell our advertisers who you are.

Specific cookies

We use both 'session id cookies', which allow us to track your actions during a single browsing session, but do not remain on your device afterwards, and 'persistent cookies', which remain on your device between sessions, for the purposes outlined below. Unless otherwise specified below, each of the cookies we use are persistent cookies.

Session id and persistent cookies can be either first or third party cookies. A first-party cookie is set by the website being visited and a third-party cookie is set by a different website. Both types of cookie may be used by us or our business partners, and we have divided the specific cookies below into first-party and third-party cookies.

For example, like many companies, we use google analytics to help monitor the website traffic. Our privacy policy describes how we may collect data in further detail. We may also use third party cookies to help with security, market research, revenue tracking, improving site functionality and monitoring compliance with our terms and conditions and copyright policy.

Any third-party cookies would be governed by their own terms and privacy policies. You might want to read these policies before giving your consent to enable these third-party cookies. Please note that we have no control over third party cookies.

We may also collect and store personal data on your computer or other device using application data caches and browser web storage (including html 5) and other technology.

How you can manage cookies

Cookies are standard practice and help you to get the most out of the Rebel Panda site. The first time you accessed the website, you should have seen a banner at the bottom of the page which asked for your explicit permission for cookies, and allowed you to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or to customise your cookie preferences.

Please remember that if you do choose to disable cookies, you may find that certain sections of the site do not work properly.

Alternatively, you can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when websites set or access cookies. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of this website may become inaccessible or not function properly.
